Growing up in different countries was great for me. Everyday a different adventure. I was born in Manassas, Virginia. My brother was born when I was two, and soon after we moved to Germany. At two years old you don't have much speaking experience. Basically, the first language I learned was German. Germany is amazing! The food is great, the people are wonderful.
Three years later my dad applied for the same job in England. This is where everything happend. Scince the only language I spoke was German, moving to a place where everyone speaks English was a challenge. When I was in 1st grade, I remember having to have a translator in every class. I just couldn't understand English. Everyone there picked on me for that reason. As a first grader, who couldn't communicate with anyone it was hard to make friends.
when it came to 4th grade I could speak every word of English, and had made really wonderful friends. Looking back now, I think it is very cool that I moved around the world because not very many people get that opportunity. I still know some German. Since I did live in England for 7 years I do know how to speak British. I know that I will be going back to those countries because I have family there. Now that I have been living in America for almost one year, i'm starting to miss England and Germany, but I know that I will be happy living here.
